CUE to Host Fall Conference in Napa Valley in 2010

Computer-Using Educators (CUE), Inc. is proud to announce the return of its Fall Conference, to be held Nov. 5-6, 2010 in the Napa Valley. The event will occur exactly one year from today and will be hosted by the Napa Valley Unified School District on the campus of American Canyon High School.

CA Races to the Top - CUE at the starting line....

CUE was present at today's regional CA Race to the Top meeting. State leaders shared application goals and strategies, most notably that any District or County LEA may participate if they complete a Memorandum of Understanding with the state, as long as it is signed by their Superintendent, School Board President and Teacher's Union President.

CUE is pleased to offer its services as a partner in any and all of those districts interested in participating. Contact CUE Executive Director, Mike Lawrence, if you are interested. The application should be available from ed.gov in the next few weeks.

CUE Awards Applications Now Being Accepted!

It's time to recognize those around you and send them to CUE for consideration. And this year, the forms may be completed digitally - no printing! Just make sure you have the free Adobe® Reader® installed on your computer (more info below). All of the 2010 CUE Awards forms have been uploaded to the CUE awards page and are ready! The following Awards are due at the CUE Office by Dec. 8, 2009:

• Site Leader of the Year Award- NEW The Site Leader of the Year Award recognizes a school site principal or assistant principal (or equivalent) who has made a noteworthy contribution to promoting educational technology within his/her school.  
  
• Gold Disk Award
  
• Technology In Learning Leadership (TILL) Award*
• Outstanding Teacher*

And while it's not an award, we are seeking quality applications for the LeRoy Finkel Fellowship.

* These award nominations must be submitted by Affiliates. Send your nominations to your local affiliate by November 15! We're looking to receive 20 local winners from each affiliate by December!

Google Workshop for Administrators in Orange County

CUE produces a series of Google Workshops for Educators based on the Google Teacher Academy, and there has been considerable interest in a workshop focused specifically on school and district administrators. We are happy to announce that the third Google Workshop for Administrators is now open for registration, this time in Orange County on December 12th, a date chosen for it's accessibility to school administrators.
