Running For CUE Board, I hope I can garner your support!

I am throwing my hat in the ring to be a CUE board member....I believe in the concept of "being the change you want to see in the world", so I am adding to an already full calendar in a effort to change the educational environment we all have to live in.

Want a reason? In 2007 ELA scores in California for second graders were 48% passing. And in the same year 11th grade ELA scores were 37%. That's a lot of work and money down the tubes for retreating scores.

Where's the California response?

We need to emulate this behavior in a massive, coordinated effort to explain the problem to our legislators here in California. I'm sure someone is really informing them, we need to deluge them in examples.

We have to ask ourselves why school is becoming an anachronism right in front of our eyes. A lack of tech integration (real tech integration, not just word processing) could be a big part of the cure....but alas, California lacks a real tech plan, or much of a desire to develop one.

I believe CUE is PART of the answer....do you agree? A vote for me could be part of the change you want to see in the world.
