You don't have to buy real fancy equipment. Just make sure people have a web cam and a headset. You can do the conferencing using Web based tools. I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
