Non-procrastinators

It's really not fair to call this post non-procrastinators, but I thought it might grab your attention. If you would like to know see the whole program then go to http://www.cue.org/conference/attend/ and download the entire schedule so you can be prepared. There is a lot to see and do. I like to go to the concurrent sessions, but now I've got to check out the CUETips and Pop-Up Sessions. A lot of those sessions look interesting and they're sho… Continue

AFI and Frank Guttler

One of these days, we are going to have Frank Guttler from the American Film Institute come out to our school district. It's a matter of time and money, but it will happen. Why? Frank is that good. He is able to make filmmaking come alive for teachers. It isn't so scary the way he shows us how to do it. The Door Scene. Shots vs. scenes. I had a fabulous time. The question is, what is it that you find engaging and motivating? It could be digital images. It could be free stuff. It could be wikis, blogs, oh my! You may laugh at my geek streak, but I know you've got one too. Embrace it and then you'll be able to choose your sessions easily.

Alright, there is another way that I choose a session. Free. Yes, wave that free banner in my face and I am there.

I love the idea of Open Source. It's free. There's so much out there that I want to go to whittle down the list of software that is available for the classroom.

The other big free item is Google. Google has an amazing array of tools just for educators. It's free. Why not get to know these tools? It's not just free for you; it's free for our students too. I also like using tools th… Continue

I learned to pout from my 11-year-old so you might be able to figure out what it would look like if I had to plead. I am glad you will be able to join us on the panel. I can't believe you read my blog. I will have to add more now.

Great advice on how to choose a session. I was amazed as I scrolled down the long list-- they ALL look very interesting! Hmm... waiting to see you plead might be a fun idea haha. But no, I won't be cruel...I'll be sitting pretty up there with you.
